I in general am fairly pleased with my job, but it is an undeniable fact that the week before I take a vacation is always kind of a trial by ordeal - sometimes this takes the form of needing to come up with a proposal in Catalan and get it to a minute European country that doesn't accept FedEx in four days.  Sometimes (such as this one) it takes the form of having to organize six different international trips of varying length and complexity for extremely indecisive coworkers in a day and a half, on top of all my usual work.  In my darker moments I suspect my colleagues of trying to make me so miserable that I never want to go away again, yet not quite miserable enough not to come back at all.  In this case they have succeeded in making me sick.  Am now mainlining Nyquil and orange juice and still feel more or less like a semi-mobile biological hazard zone.  Nonetheless, tomorrow I am getting on a plane to Moscow and not coming back for two weeks, and all I can say is thank god for upgradable tickets because all I want right now is a giant seat to sleep in and a nice lady to come and bring me port every time I wake up.  Apologies to everyone I said I would call before leaving - I've been working late every day this week and by the time I've gotten home it's been an unreasonable hour to call the east coast.  At any rate, reports from the eastern hemisphere will appear as time and internet connectivity permit.  If you never hear from me again, take it as cautionary tale about flying Uzbekistan Airways.  Good night, and good luck.
